History:
I started learning plumbing in 2004. I was lucky enough to be taught by a plumber 30 years experience, my father. I also completed a NVQ2 in plumbing. I spent eight years working alongside my brother and father running the family business. I have a lot of experience in maintenance, especially older systems. I also have been involved in a lot of installation work, boilers and bathrooms, including the tiling and carpentry work. In 2012 I went travelling and ended up teaching English in Vietnam. From 2012-2017 I was teaching English. However, I did return to the UK in 2015 and again worked with the family plumbing business. I am now settled again in the UK, unfortunately not where the family business is, so I'm now looking to build a plumbing business specialising in small jobs and giving a fixed price. My aim is to provide a transparent business for the customer, so they don't have to worry about hidden costs.

It is a small job as long as the water supply can be turned off outside your house. i would imagine the labour to be 40-60 pounds
Did you turn the stop cock off before you left to care for your mother? or any other valves before you left? what system do you have for hotwater? if you have a cylinder for hotwater and tanks in the loft. it could be that you are getting hotwater and cold in the bathroom because they are still being fed by the tank in the loft. while the kitchen sink tap which is usually fed by the mains as it rises to the loft is not working because the mains is not open. do you have any other cold water taps connectd in the kitchen eg washing machine outide tap are they working? is the mains coming into the house turned on or off?
Typically it's about half a days work and around 20-25 for materials. i would say around 90-120 would be what a plumber would charge
