new kitchen, utility and bathroom - Refurbishments job in Chesterfield

“Shane and his colleagues installed a downstairs bathroom into my mums former pantry and coalhouse, knocking down a wall to link the rooms, installed plumbing and electricity supply, insulating the new room then plastering the same. Fitted a wall hung toilet, washbasin, shower and cabinet as well as extractor fan. They also re-modelled her former wash house into a utility room, replastering and installing plumbing, fitted new wall and floor cabinets and sink, installed electrics for her washing machine to be located in there, built a wall to block up the former coalhouse doorway into the porch and replastered the porch, installing lighting and finally removed her former kitchen units, replastered the walls, skimmed the tiled floor to re-level it and installed a new fitted kitchen. They laid click vinyl flooring in her kitchen, porch and utility, tiled the walls and floor in her new bathroom, installed gas central heating with all new radiators, removed solid fuel fire and back boiler and replastered chimney breast in lounge. The work took approximately 7 weeks in total (boiler installation was undertaken in Autumn of 2018, kitchen, bathroom, porch and utility work performed in February/March 2019), and Shane and his associates were clean, professional, thorough, prompt, hardworking and skilled, as well as friendly, approachable and trustworthy. They only requested payment for supplies initially, provided written quotes for work to be undertaken and invoices listing works which had been performed. Final payment was only requested when works had been finished. Mum is thrilled with her remodelled house and we will definitely use Shane and Spire Home Improvements again and highly recommend him and his company.”

Hi. yes, you do need skirting boards.the plaster should be about an inch from the floor, to prevent rising damp. if it's plastered to the floor, there's a good chance it could cause rising damp. by mopping the floor, and brushing the side of plaster. eventually it will damage it. hope this helps. shane
Hi. various people, will tell you different ways. 1 recommended way, is to keep painting wall paper paste on it, about every 30mins,keep touching it. when the paste stays wet for about 10 mins, paint another coat on, then using a paint scraper. scrape the distemper off. a much easier way, is to over board the ceiling with plaster board, then plaster it. hope this helps. shane
