Try some zinzs stain block or some oil based undercoat
Dulux weathersheilds 8 year guarantee with there paint
Not really but you can get a different finish such as a satin finish which is much flatter then gloss if you painting exterior you need to be using exterior paint
The walls/ceiling should take 3 coats from bare plaster a prime/mist coat which should be thinned down matt emulation then 2 coats of your finishing paint depending on your colour some colours will take more coats like reds and things like that
Touch up the stains with oil based under coat or re under coat the full sill the re paint in your finishing paint. and would be better to repaint the gloss rather then touch it up
