I have been a plasterer for over 3 years now I started with a group of lime plasterers working on old buildings including clay lump timber frame, I then started taking on modern work for a while at weekends before setting up by myself and covering all aspects of plastering.

Hi, any plasterer should be happy to help you remove the ceiling, it can be a bit of a messy job but definitely not a difficult job for somebody who regularly deals with this kind of work. hope this helps
It depends really on the size of the ceiling but your average day rate should be between 160-200 plus the cost of materials some pictures or coming to view the job would give a much better idea on pricing
The best way forward would be to remove the old plaster, inspect the laths to ensure they are sound, and replaster the damaged area, hope this helps
