Put a sheet down first to avoid splatter. use a mini sponge roler and tray with plenty of gloss evenly spread a layer on the door, only use a brush to go around hinges and handles, or remove them. should take less than half hour a door.
You are more likely to get uneven walls if the walls are mortar and have only been scimmed instead of plastered. plasterboard should be easy to get perfect. as for blemishes this is due to flicking water to hard on the almost dry plaster or over wetting the finnish while troweling off. its a possibility the plaster dried too quickly and couldn't be flattened properly in time. the blemishes can be sanded easily but shouldn't create a job by being all over the wall.
Sounds like its not providing any decent drainage and waters sitting in the ground, you could get a joint to fit to the bottom of the pipe and continue a pipe to divert the water to the drain. or if there is concrete below instead of it being a trip hazard create a recess in the concrete to divert the water into the drain. alternatively you could dig down 500mm and 500mm wide and fill the area full of chippings creating whats known as a soak away allowing the water to drain below the outhouses level.
Well sealed and bonded it could be done, i would have to see the ceiling but i personaly would prefer to take it down and plasterboard it instead, or plasterbord over the wood chip, screwing into the joists.
If the handyman would be building the flatpack and would be willing to pickup i don't see why not, but you would assume the quote for the entire job would include his time and fuel for the pickup taken into account and it may or may not be at a higher total cost than the ikea delivery, best to ask for a quote with and without pickup and weigh it up.
