About Us:

I am a experienced joiner specialising in fitted furniture. Alcove units, dressing rooms, kitchens and doors to name a few. I have worked for a company in super high end residential for the past 8 years and now am starting my own venture offering high end quality at a more affordable price.

History:

I began from the bottom as a teenager labouring for a friends family business. I wanted to expand my skill base and joined another company working closely with a vastly skilled carpenter. 2 years learning from him greatly benefited me but I didn’t have any qualification. I wanted to learn in the right environment so was very particular when looking for an apprenticeship. This lead me to my most recent employer. Here I worked on exclusive jobs, one of which featured on channel 4. I gained my level 3 NVQ in carpentry and joinery and was quickly promoted to lead installer. As a lead installer I was in charge of the complete fit out at David Gilmour’s (pink flloyd) property on hove seafront. Along with my experience fitting I have gained much experience in a joinery workshop. This have given me a great understanding of the full process of joinery from making to fitting.

Other:

Level 3 NVQ carpentry & joinery

Install new kitchen - Kitchen fitting job in Brighton

“We asked Callum to quote on fitting a kitchen and we were very pleased with the finished job. He sorted out a plumber and electrician and organised for a plasterer and kept us informed throughout the project by email and text. Great job, thank you Callum. A&J Hamilton”

Answers:

I would always fit the laminate underneath the kickboard and then scribe the kick board to the laminate to create a seamless joint
This was probably down to an installation issue possibly the screws were over rotated degrading the mdf or timber it is fixed too. possibly they did a pilot hole too big for the fixing meaning the screw won’t hold much weight. i would suggest the door would need to be removed a small timber plug added and reinstate the hinge in place with a new pilot hole.
