Hairline cracks in plaster after installing trickle vents are often caused by vibrations from power tools during the installation process. this is typically cosmetic and not a structural issue. however, if the crack widens, continues to grow, or you notice other signs of structural movement (e.g., misaligned doors/windows or larger cracks), it may be worth consulting with a builder for further assessment. for now, you can fill the crack with a suitable filler and monitor it.
