My background is Ex Forces, then I worked for Eon Central Networks as an underground cable jointer. I worked here for a few years before gradually moving over to domestic electrics.
My work has been mainly changing consumer units additional fixings and the odd rewire.

Answers:

If the sockets are fed via cables hidden in walls or trunking then they need to be rcd protected.
if they are clipped direct to the wall then they don’t need to be rcd protected.
10 way consumer unit dual rcd 100a main switch. £600 including labour and the consumer unit.
