Absolutely not, expanding foam is primarily used to fill in small gaps or small voids and should never be used as an alternative to mortar to bond bricks together.
Electric central heating boilers are extremely efficient ( approx 99%) but unfortunately more expensive to run than gas depending on tariff prices etc. the actual price of
the boilers don’t differ much to gas depending on the manufacturer and installation costs would be approx the same
too. the gas would have to be capped off and removed safely but all the existing pipe work can remain in place for the new electric boiler.
Gumtree, marketplace etc. sometimes give away for free to save the hassle/cost of disposing or skips etc. finding and asking supervisors on local building sites nearing completion will always have excess bricks and blocks that they will want to flog for cash
No the brickwork should be toothed out on both returns and re done so is level and square to avoid operational problems with new bi folds. reinforcement should be installed on altered brickwork too, maybe ties and definitely use stainless steel helical bars to tie to existing brickwork and strengthen
