Shared sewer waste backing up to shower?

A blockage was discovered in the sewer we share with our neighbour due to them flushing stuff they shouldnt. Toilet was emptying slower. Shower tray was filling with water. We tried plunging the toilet, and it made the shower gurgle, so I'm assuming they are connected. When that failed, the water company came out, found, and removed the blockage. My question I'm hoping an experienced plumber could answer. What are the chances any waste water from the shared sewer was able to back up into the shower? As I said, the tray filled while showering. There was no smell. The water wasnt dirty looking. But not knowing the mechanics, I'm obviously concerned about that type of exposure due to diseases like Hepatitis. Hope someone can help. Thanks.

In the bathroom, the waste water pipes all connect together and travel to the sole pipe.
The chances are that the back up is from your own waste pipes.
If the blockage keeps happening, you will need to speak with your neighbour and tell them the problem... Get them to pay for a drain clean if the problem persists.
The shower gurgle is definitely a blocked pipe or drain.
