Due to a leak from above the ceiling in a house I am considering buying has fallen in. Which type of tradesmen should I contact? I am thinking a plasterer - but not sure. Indications of cost would also be useful.

You will need a plasterer. Depending on the size of the damage and how much needs to be replaced taking into account rubbish needing to be removed will effect the cost, usually these repairs take a day. Costing anywhere between 250 to 400 pounds
A plasterer should be able to help you repair the ceiling. Make sure the leak is fixed first but a plaster should be able to remove all damaged area (entire ceiling if needed) then re fix new plasterboard and plaster to a nice finish. Cost really depends on size of work needing to be done.
