Answers:
If you are adding circuitsand adding in sockets anywhere in your home or making alterations to the electrics in your bathrooms or kitchen then your fuse board will need upgrading to a split load rcd protected board. if you are not doing any of the above then it is only recommended that you upgrade.
we charge from £300 (depending on size) for a board change and full test including certification and notifying building control.

Most of the time it is difficult to pin point tell tale signs to the untrained eye. your best bet would be to get an eicr (electrical installation condition report). this report will determine whether or not your electrical installation is safe for continued use. any problems will become apparent in the report and they can be rectified!

A full rewire causes a fair bit of disruption. walls need to be chased/ channelled out for cables to be hidden in the wall which can become messy. floorboards need to be removed to route cables etc. a full rewire can take between 3-7 days depending on the size of the house/flat. redecoration will need to be considered! hard to give a cost per room. the last occupied 3 bedroom we completed cost around £3500 with all fixtures and fittings included.
