History:
Started my company over 10 years ago ,worked for various companies prior such as British Gas. My1st trade was a bricklayer then I qualified as a gas engineer,combined the two so I now specialise in fireplaces but carry out all domestic gas works including boiler installs

He should of used ,fireproof sealant or cement
Single panel rads are slimmer however you can turn brackets round to make wall to face less 2 sizes,go with double if not sure,without calculating various things such as window/doors make .height of ceilings,insulation,flooring type ,size of room,age of pipework /system ,,even then it’s not an exact science so go bigger to be sure
Immersion must be on unless boiler coming on ,
buy a (volt stick) touch outside cable going to both immersion heaters if it glows,you have power going to immersion
You should have an airbrick to meet building regs ,fitted to wall where fireplace once was unless still opened
If not being used cut back and bung with rock wall,check materials of flue 1st as may be asbestos ,if it is asbestos you can just bung and leave but don’t cut,alternatively get professional asbestos team in
