Firstly make sure your tradesman has insurance. alway get a quote for work explaining every step of work being carried out. invoice stating that the work has been carried out stating any changes, that should of been discussed fist if so. make payments via bank transfer, make a record of any contact you have made. then make a small clam through the courts
