Best thing would be to replace the the pull cord.
The neon in the shower pull cord would cost next to nothing to run, the only problem is that pull cords stop switching due to the mechanism inside the switch getting stuck, i'd recommend replacing the pull cord as it's ideally an isolation point where you can safely isolate the power going to the shower incase there's a water leak or fault with the shower.
