Faulty switch cord due to wear and tear, £5 for materials and £40 to change the switch. 20 minutes work.
Sounds like the insulation continuity of the oven element when getting to full temperature, it could also be the internal thermostat. highly unlikely an overloaded circuit but this is also a possibility.
Sounds like a possible pcb issue but i would look at the thermal cut out component first.
Depending on the type of electrical boiler you choose will determine the size of cable to use when upgrading. there will be more load on the supply than before therefore needing a new supply and mcb upgrade. there will also need to be an isolator installed, usually next to the new boiler.
If your new sockets are plastic and a simple swap over then no. however if they are metal or you are altering the circuit they yes and yes. i would always recommend a new mains board if the existing one is plastic and especially if no rcd is present. also changing to a rcd mains board sometimes can pick up minor faults which i would always make clear in my recommendation for the upgrade.
