About Us:

Experienced electrician, 30 years in the trade. We cover all domestic electrical installations from an additional socket or light, a full rewire and periodic inspections. We offer design support to meet your requirements. We also provide electrical heating services in the unfortunate event of a failure.

History:

30 years ago is when I first started in the trade. I completed my apprenticeship in 1997 which seems like a lifetime ago. Unfortunately due to the recent pandemic and restrictions on my workplace I had to take a more permanent position in a company as their qualified supervisor. I am now looking to move back into the private sector and restart my business.

I would recommend an eicr of the property to establish if the existing installation is in good condition. i will however suggest that if the consumer unit is dated and has no suitable protection that meets current requirements and especially if selling the property then it would be advisable to replace said consumer unit after a full inspection has been conducted. available for any questions if needed.
On no point do you pay any monies to this company. you arranged a time and date to suit yourself and if agreed by the company then they have failed to provide you a service. if you are receiving unwanted calls then you should report them to trading standards. i hope this is helpful. good luck.
Due to the changes made to the bs7671 in 2018, a lot of electricians instantly assume that a consumer unit made of combustible materials is not compliant. this is not necessarily the case. this would only apply if there is any thermal/heat damage to the unit or if there is any access to live parts on all sides of the unit. additionally it would also depend on the location of the unit, ie above an escape route or under an escape route. i hope this helps. if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
