Just wondering how much it would cost to have a ring doorbell installed. The video and audio ones. It says it needs to be hardwired and wired to my fuse box..
If you have the hardwired version then yes a cable will need to come from a transformer, if you have a wired doorbell already you can change the transformer and use the existing cabling. If not then yes a new cable will need to be ran from the consumer unit, into a transformer (supplied by RING) then to the position of your new doorbell.
I hope this helps.
I’ve done a few of these now and I charge a standard of 1 day fitting 2 depending on run but £150
A ring doorbell cam be either battery operated where you charge the battery every 3 months of hard wire to a bell transformer so can always be charged.
Cost of door bell and labour would be around the 400 mark
£50-100 dependent on work required for cable installation to hard wire doorbell
If you have a wired doorbell in place £75. If not from £120.
Ye correct u need to run the doorbell to transformer them to it’s own circuit
There it’s two type of this device hard wire one with will require installation of small power supply and run cable to front door if old one not existing.
This could be connected directly to fuse box but not necessarily need to be.
Another type it’s wireless with will require charging every sometimes this one do not require any wiring
The cost of installing a Ring doorbell, including both video and audio capabilities, typically ranges between £100 and £200 for labor, depending on the complexity of the wiring and the location of your fuse box. If additional wiring or modifications to your electrical system are required, the cost may be higher. For a precise estimate, it’s best to contact a certified electrician who can evaluate your specific installation needs.
