The beam contains some old wet rot and might need treating or have a new section spliced in. Upstairs some plasterboard have come loose from the beams and need to be fixed.

He is lazy; he does everything with the minimal effort and doesn’t care whether it makes sense or not. Workmanship is unacceptable. Wonky walls, leaking radiators, pipes. I was contacted by sam regarding a standard plastering in a large bedroom. Only 3 walls required skimming. I was at work and so could not supervise the project. There are a number of really poor finishes around 3 sockets, thin skimming in areas where the plastic mesh is coming through. Called Sam who agreed to come round to resolve some of the issues, and as expected, he has not been in contact since. I would avoid spending money with this tradesman.
