Obviously had never felted a roof before. First, used a thin underfelt instead of a thicker mineral-finish felt (which was taken off the roof for renewal). Second, did not know how to form a drip edge, even nailing timber where water runs off the roof, making the timber rot.. Underfelt has since buckled and pulled away from the clout nails, requiring repairs within a year. Might be good at gardening, but no knowledge of roofing. Sorry I chose them off the internet for my son. Very expensive.

The house is a 16th century property in Coddenham. The front bargeboards are old, loose and badly fitted (they fell off!). They need replacing. The front of the house has felting but the rear third has none (clay tiles) whilst the rear of the house (pantiles) also has none. The tiles and pantiles are generally OK but doubtless some will require replacing. On this basis I would like a quote please. The property is grade 2* listed. I have spoken to Mid suffolk council and on the basis I have described they see no problems although they would like to be 'kept in the loop' by me

I engaged Mr William R Buckley (also known as Nick) initially to apply a finishing coat to two flat roofs which was fine. He then provided a quotation for two high level roofs. A leak occurred on the same day which I reported. I arranged for a roof survey by a member of the NFRC (National Federation of Roofing Contractors) which confirmed that all the work Mr William R Buckley had undertaken had either not been done or done to a incorrectly/to a poor standard. I am now taking the issue to court.
