Can someone tell me why my dimmer switch is buzzing? Does it need repair or replacement?
Some dimmers do, it could be a sign that its on the way out or it is being overloaded.
If the sound is coming from the dimmer switch, you may be overloading the switch’s capacity. Dimmer switches are rated according to the maximum wattage they can handle. If you’ve installed high wattage bulbs in your chandelier, the switch may be over capacity. You can check this by removing a few bulbs and seeing if the buzzing gets better. Or by checking the wattage rating on the switch against the sum of the wattage of all the bulbs. If so, reduce your overall wattage, or look for a dimmer switch with a higher wattage rating.

Lol sounds like a bees stuck in your switch. It could be because a transformer problem you need to tel me what it is connected to. Also could be the light switch most of the time it's the light switch. Hope this helped.
Hi.
There can be a few reasons. How many lights is it dimming and what type of light is (are) it (they)?
Most dimmer switches buzz some worse than others it's usually normal and not a problem it's the transformer inside what causes this
The dimmer switch is buzzing because its not functioning properly due to wear and tear in the dimmer. The solution is to replace with new, or get an electrican to look at the existing one, and if its a two-way dimmer change the cable to the other vacant terminal.
