Making a foundation

Got a 6m by 3m conservatory. Brick on 1 side, brick/glass on front and upvc on other wall. Want to remove the upvc wall, move out another foot. And then put a timber wall/frame up. Roof is off as we replacing it. Need to know what to do. There looks like theres slabs there now, (not used). The conservatory floor i believe is concrete. Do i need to remove slabs, dig down x far and fill with concrete? Or can i build up from the slabs with something to floor level. Then make my timber wall?

Usually it depends on the weight how strong foundation has to be. Sounds like you need your footing, foundation wall and slab to be done. Poor foundation will ruin all your work above… simple as that

I would suggest joining onto the existing footing by adding more concrete drilling into the existing footing to add Steel to help the bond from new to old

The necessary sub base snd membrane will need to be extended. Youll need to dig down and come back up to level with the material and process thats been applied to the existing.

What will you be doing to fill the gap that the ft leaves between the existing brick and glass wall?
A footing is always the better option and it wouldn't need to be enormous for a timber wall.

I would check to see how deep the foundations are for any build ,also if moving out another foot would require extra foundation ,e,g extra slap for build ti sit on

I would 100 percent dig footings of at least a meter. slabs are laid on hardcore MOT and cement. this will not support any structure

No .you have to dig the floor out to 10" Deep or 250mm to lay 50mm of scalping/hardcore then 100mm Kingsland or similar insulation then 100mm of concrete or if using concrete and screed then 300mm to finish top floor level with a liquid screed or similar

Remove the existing uPVC wall and any necessary fixtures, such as electrical outlets or light switches.

Extend the foundation: You may need to excavate the area where you plan to extend the conservatory by digging down to the required depth for a foundation, 1000mm. Pour concrete into the excavated area to create the new foundation.

Build up the new wall Once the foundation is complete, you can begin to build the new timber wall/frame up to the desired height. Ensure that the wall is properly anchored to the foundation and that any openings, such as windows or doors, are properly framed and flashed to prevent leaks.

It depends how deep your concrete slab is and if you add on with concrete you will drill in steel bars to connect both slabs

I advise you dig a 300mm hole and concrete to support the frame and the roof.

You would need to dig new trenches and take slabs up and then concrete new foundation. And build substructure with blocks and bricks to DPC level.
